EndNote: Password Policy Change FAQs

1. Policy

• Implement Date：2026/2/12。
• Update Period：every 180 days
• Notification：If your password is more than 180 days old, you will be prompted to create a new one at your next login.

2.Step

Login and get notification ：

• Step 1： Hit "Learn More..." . or connect EndNote Forgot Password Page.

• Step 2： Key in your email address.
• Step 3： Follow the instructions in the email to reset a new password, and ensure that the new password is strong enough to meet security requirements.
• Step 4：In the EndNote program, you can update the new password by following the steps below.

■For Windows: Edit menu > Preferences > Sync.

■For macOS: EndNote XX beside the Apple icon > Settings/Preferences > Sync.

3. Notice

• If you do not reset new password. The EndNote desktop application will still function normally. However, Sync, Share, and Cloud-based services will pause until the password is updated since it is connected to the EndNote Online/Web account.
