  • How to open the stack illumination?

Due to reduce lighting energy use, the lighting will be turned off except the main area. You could follow the lighting layout to open the stack illumination yourself or tell us.

  • What if I cannot find a book on the shelf even though it showed up as "Available" in the library catalog?
The book may be used by somebody in the library or it has been missshelved. You could fill in a "Missing Book Search Request" form at the service desk and we will search for the book for you. If we find it we will give you a call.
  • I know I returned an item, but it is still on my account. What do I do?

One possibility is that we did not scan the barcode due to an oversight, however this seldom happens. If the item is found in the library, the item will be discharged from your record and all fines will be waived.
You are also encouraged to continue searching for the item. If you find the item and return it to the library, you will be assessed any overdue fine that has accrued.
If it is not found, we cannot remove the item from your checked-out record, and you may fill in a" Claim Request" form. Whether or not it is found, we will definitely send you a notice in a week.

  • I did not receive the library notice via e-mail.
Library notices are sent via the university email service. If you do not use the university mail service, problems may occur. We recommend that you check your circulation records from your library account. Moreover, library notices are sent as a courtesy to our patrons; it is your responsibilities to return the items on time, and your overdue fines can't be waived  under the circumstances.
  • My belongings was gone when I leave my seat.

Although there are security cameras on each floor of the library, we only set them up in important spots such as entrances and exits. If your seat can't be seen in the recorded-data. You can leave your contact information. If it is found, we will let you know. And we recommend you to report the incident to the office of student affairs. If someone finds it in another place on campus, he or she could know to whom it belongs.
