Borrow

1. The maximum number of items and loan period are as follows:

Exception:

Non-print media items, including DVDs, video tapes (VHS), audio CDs, and audio cassettes have a 14-day period for all patrons.
Course reserves have a 2-hour period for all patrons.

* Overnight : Items could be borrowed after 15:30, and it should be returned before 10:30 of the next opening day.

Renew

Patron may renew regular loan items ONLY TWO times before the due-date. Due-date will extend from the day when you renew the item.
Items that cannot be renewed include:
  • Items holded by another patron.
  • Items that have reached renewal limits.
  • Non-print media items, interlibrary loan items and special loans.

Hold

To hold an item that is currently borrowed, click the "Place Hold" link next to the item information in the Library Catalog. If you’re the first person then you will receive a notice by E-mail after it’s been returned.

Return

Library patrons should return items by the due-date. Book drop box is available when the Library is closed. Please note that the Non-print media items should be returned to the Library service desk in person.
Notice: Patrons could  borrow the items just returned if no one has holded the item.

Fine

Patrons would be assessed fines when returning library items after its due date. Unpaid fines will result in the suspension of borrowing privileges.

Notice: There is a 5-day grace period, and on the 6th day the charge will be NT$30.

Damaged or Lost Items

1. What if I lose or damage a book?

Step1:Please report it to the Service Desk immediately so that no further overdue fines are assessed.
Step2:Complete the replacement process within one month (Simplified Chinese and English books within two months).
Step3: Bring an exact replacement to the Service Desk.(A new version of the replacement book is also available.) or pay for the replacement fee.

Library locker 

  • Lockers are available for all patrons.
  • NOT ALLOWED: any illegal/ dangerous/ hazardous items, animals, and items which caused odors.
  • Please remember the password and the locker’s number. If you forget your password, bring your valid ID card to the service desk and fill out an application form for unlocking.
  • Lockers are cleared every day at closing. Items left in lockers can be claimed from the Library’s Lost and Found at the service desk. Personal items will be retained for 3 days or SURPLUS.
  • Patrons are responsible for the compensation of any damage of locker.
